A picnic at Botanic Gardens to start the new year

Don't ask me why, I just had the sudden brilliant idea of going for a picnic on the weekend. I suppose it had something to do with the cool weather these days... So we went hunting for a picnic mat, or something that we could use as a picnic mat which is cheap and reuseable. Found this green plastic table lining at the ABC store. The night before, I prepared the food for our picnic - mini sandwiches, snacks, chilled the drinks and packed the picnic basket (which was actually a X'mas hamper from Hubby's company that really looks and acts like a real picnic basket).

The sky threatened to pour in the morning when we woke up. Luckily, by the time we finished our showers, the sun was out bright and cheery again. And so we headed to Botanic Gardens, stopping enroute at the confectionery to buy some sliced bread for feeding the swans and turtles at the lake.

Can we start eating, Mummy?

Let me show you 3 steps of eating a prawn cracker

First, you bite off a small piece

Then you take it out from your mouth and chew the piece inside

After that, you put the rest of it into your mouth

If you really like the taste, take a 2nd helping!

I like to walk up and down this groove at the side of the pavement

And run around in the open space

Observe the nature around me

And posing for pictures for Daddy

Calling out to the swans

Floating idyllically in the lake

Looking at other children feeding the swan and turtles

A final picture at the man-made waterfall before we leave
