Dr. Ong didn't give us your photo...

For the past two days, Mummy and Daddy kept talking to you, telling you not to close your legs. We want to know if you are a girl or boy, so that we can start buying you stuff like cots, strollers and clothing. Mummy read from forum posts that some pregnant women did that and true enough, their babies really showed them.

Today Mummy and Daddy went to see you at Dr. Ong's clinic. You were sleeping soundly and not moving at all. Dr. Ong tried prodding you several times but you refused to budge. What's more, you had your legs crossed.

"Seems like I can't tell you the gender of your baby today," said Dr. Ong.

Why, baby? Do you want to give Mummy and Daddy a surprise?

Later, Dr. Ong took Mummy's blood for blood test. Took 3 syringes of it in all! It was so painful, especially when he extracted the needle. Usually when I go for injections, I would dare to look at the needle when it's pricking into the skin. But this time, I was so scared I looked away.

Then we paid the 1st instalment for the gynae package. It cost us a whopping $750! Add in the charge of the blood test and we paid a total of $1000 odd. Well well, what to do... all for Baby's sake.

In the end, after we left the clinic, something hit me. I realised that Dr. Ong had not given us Baby's photo. I quickly called the clinic. The nurse said that Dr. Ong doesn't give the photo during every visit. But I had checked with my colleague who's also seeing him. She said she had to ask him for it.

Sigh... Mummy told Daddy to be more vigilant next time and ask the doctor to print your photo before we leave the place.

Well, for the next visit, Baby, please don't be so shy... Don't cross your legs, ok? We want to start buying you stuff already... Pink if you're a girl and blue if you're a boy! So typical... heehee...
