That's a song that I can recall and sang to Karyn on the morning of the zoo trip. Not sure where I heard it though... Anyway, it sounds nice and just SO appropriate!
My colleague, JC, managed to successfully ballot for the company corporate Friends of the Zoo card (that entitles the holder to 4 free entry) over the weekend. He went on Saturday morning after which we met up to get the card from him for our Sunday visit.
And so, we brought Karyn together with Gong Gong and Ma Ma to the zoo. It was Karyn's 1st trip there!
Disclaimer: We couldn't bring Ye Ye and Nai Nai 'cos they were in San Francisco for a tour. Next time, ok?
Some afterthoughts...
(1) Karyn's more interested looking at other people's cameras and the images on their screen rather than watch the polar bear show. Well, well, what can I say about my "gadget baby"???
(2) At 16 months, it's still too early for Karyn to really enjoy the zoo trip. She's still a bit too young to understand what the zoo is about. Plus, her attention span is too short to sustain much animal viewing... Maybe we'll bring her again in another year's time...
(3) It might be better to take the tram (what with elderly parents and toddler in tow, with whom we have to adjust our walking pace), esp. when we need to rush from one show or feeding time to another.
(4) Can consider packing food for picnic. The restaurants are expensive and after spending the morning walking under the hot sun, no one's in the mood to enjoy a $20+++ buffet lunch. There are several shaded spots and pavilions for people to sit and rest - just nice for a picnic.
(5) Bring your own water, chilled if possible. The mineral water at the Cheers convenience store cost $2, double the price outside.
Yup, that's all I can think of now...
